Certificate in Cosmetology

The Cosmetology Certificate is a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for a wide range of careers within the beauty industry. The curriculum offers theoretical and practical instruction. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on applications, students acquire knowledge, language skills and career opportunities in: haircutting, hairstyling, colorist, chemical specialist, skin care, nail care, industry marketing and entrepreneurship. Students will understand the importance of professionalism and artistic endeavor in this diverse industry. 

Certificate of Achievement Level Student Learning Outcomes

Students completing the Cosmetology Certificate of Achievement will:

  1. Be prepared to pass the California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology written exam and acquire licensure.
  2. Be trained theoretically and practically in haircutting, haircoloring, chemical training, hairstyling and skin & nail care.
  3. Be inspired and challenged artistically through projects, community service and collaborative work with partnering industry professionals.
